    Usually this leads to a chain reaction which makes everything even more expensive. For example, if a McDonald's manager gets paid 16$\h, and you raise the minimum wage to 15$\h, that means you have to raise the wages all the way up the chain, which means hamburgers will be more expensive. .less

    When you raise the minimum wage, you raise the rent, when you raise the rent you have to build affordable housing, which means you have to tax people to build the affordable housing, as a result people move out of the city so you raise taxes on the people that Remain. This is how you hollow out a major city's economy. .less
